Description:
Scandic continues its expansion and now seeks a Director Technical Services Germany & Non-Nordics who can successfully contribute to the execution of the Scandic growth strategy, focusing first on Germany and other European markets in the near future. That includes project management of new hotels (new builds and take overs) during the coming years as well as renovation of existing portfolio. The Director Technical Services will also be responsible for follow-up on maintenance and energy efficiency within hotel operations. As a newly established position, this role will be responsible for leading, developing and organizing the Technical Services function outside the Nordics.
As Director Technical Services, you will hold full responsibility for capital expenditures (CapEx) across Germany and non-Nordic regions, with a focus on proactive planning and managing of investment projects. This role involves close collaboration with the Business Development team during negotiations, where you will contribute technical and project-related insights for new opportunities and lease prolongations. You will manage the project steering groups, ensuring seamless execution from pre-lease signing to the opening of new hotels, in line with business cases and Scandic’s defined brand positioning. The Director will adhere to Scandic’s standards, concepts, and the GOPRO/One Scandic project process, with a focus on proactive decision-making, streamlined processes, and optimized CapEx investments for successful hotel openings.
In addition to managing investment projects, the Director Technical Services will provide country-level support for maintaining the existing hotel portfolio according to demarcation in agreements, including supporting hotel General Managers with recruitment, energy optimization, and sustainability reporting.
This position reports to the Head of Group Technical Services at Scandic’s Group Head Office in Stockholm and is part of the Group Portfolio team. The role is based at the Support Office in Berlin, with the flexibility of remote work/other place of residence. Travel is required (approximately 40-60 days per year).
We are looking for a natural leader, structured with very good communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of real estate project management and the ability to effectively communicate strategy and project roadmaps to teams and key stakeholders, both within Scandic and externally with landlords and suppliers.

- Higher academic degree from technical or business university
