The Job/What You’ll Do:
The Director, Total Rewards & HR Analytics is a key HR Leadership role helping to drive key business decisions across all AssetMark teams. This position provides a full range of comprehensive consulting and data analysis for designing, implementing, and communicating Total Rewards programs, including Sales Incentive Compensation and Corporate Compensation programs.
This leader is expected to be at the forefront of market trends and apply knowledge of market practices to the unique needs of our business. A successful candidate will develop and maintain innovative Total Rewards programs with a strong emphasis on technology to drive business value and enhance the overall employee experience.
The ideal candidate serves as an expert and will work directly with cross-functional leaders on Total Rewards trends, recommending innovative solutions to ensure competitiveness, equity, and alignment to current business strategy.
In managing the Total Rewards and HR Analytics team, the Director will help mentor, train, and provide guidance to team members while driving them towards career development.
We can consider candidates for this position who are able to accommodate a hybrid work schedule and are close to our office location in Concord, CA, or Phoenix, AZ.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the creation of a Total Rewards strategy that attracts and retain talent needed to deliver on the business goals and enhance our company culture
  • Design and implement competitive compensation programs, such as annual and sales incentive compensation processes, and annual and quarterly bonuses
  • Create, document, administer and maintain compensation policies and procedures
  • Research best practices internally and externally and apply key findings to achieve position objectives
  • Provide key metrics on compensation performance including monthly and quarterly analytics reports/findings
  • Oversee development of reporting and dashboards to share insights with leaders on key metrics such as headcount growth, hiring, retention, internal movement, diversity, and engagement
  • Identify business needs and issues via Data Analytics; enhances and/or designs programs to address them
  • Communicate, train, and provide guidance to HR, Sr Leadership, and people managers
  • Partner with the Finance, HR, and Sales Operations teams as needed in day-to-day activities and/or special compensation projects
  • Manage, and drive annual compensation design, communication, training and execution
  • Support the implementation of sales compensation governance plans and the annual sales compensation design process
  • Develop controls to ensure sales incentive plans are being administered in an accurate, efficient and timely manner that adheres to the plan terms

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to distill challenging concepts down into simple messages and creatively communicate to a variety of audiences (employees, HR partners, managers, business leaders, etc.)
  • Must be a self-starter and highly organized with the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound business judgment
  • Ability to keep confidential information confidential
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, project management, communication, problem solving and consultation skills
  • Must be detail oriented, results driven, and committed to quality and accuracy
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • Strong working knowledge of and experience administering relevant software systems (e.g., Excel, CRM system(s), PowerBI, Compensation system(s), etc…)
  • Solid understanding of reporting and dashboards on various HR & Analytics platforms
  • Proven capability in designing compensation programs (base pay, bonus, sales comp., etc…)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of McLagan compensation surveys and how they apply to the business

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent experience
  • 5 + years of Compensation, Total Rewards, and/or People Analytics experience required

Compensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $160,000-$175,000.
This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US to be considered. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
