Description:

Overview:
The Director, Trade Analytics & Insights effectively leads Analytics team to successfully enable the selling effort. Masters the 5 Core Competencies: business planning, performance evaluation, product and inventory management, pricing and revenue management, demand planning/ forecasting/ budgeting. Responsible for embracing and developing behaviors consistent with BBG’s Trade Development mission. Align with established business rules. Must embrace and support BBG’s Reliability Model. Serves as the local market expert on customers, brands, key sales drivers, trends, and market dynamics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop market and economic analysis capability. Oversee team around identifying growth, innovation, and competitive opportunities to drive market share, revenue, and profit through analytics.
  • Lead data analysis and business case recommendations for selected initiatives.
  • Drive uniformity and standardization on how we measure our performance with our key supplier partners and customers utilizing analytics & insights as the focal point of the conversation.
  • Develop, arrange, and optimize key reports and business forecasts that support and inform existing and future business initiatives.
  • Identify actionable insights, suggest recommendations, and influence the direction of the business by effectively communicating results to leaders.
  • Lead the Analytics & Insights team functions of Syndicated Data, Corporate Reporting, and Insights, ensuring analysts provide sales insights helping drive category, channel & market-based solutions in assigned BBG market.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert in the design and recommendation of appropriate analytical approaches and methodologies in addressing key issues within the business on commodity and/or channel (spirits, wine/beer/craft, National Accounts, etc.) and support overall ad-hoc requests.
  • Understand BBG & Supplier (brand) strategy and put customer analysis and insights around the strategy.
  • Deliver supplier and customer-based insights from a mixture of internal, syndicated, and other industry relevant data to deliver recommendations and actionable solutions.
  • Partner with Business Intelligence and Sales Leadership to drive standardization of reporting across the organization.
  • Drive a data driven culture to promote data-driven decision-making, consumer-driven analytics, and business-objective led planning across the enterprise. Harvest and optimize the value of BBG’s technology and resource investments around analytics within assigned BBG market.
  • Monitor and measure continuity, standardization, and analytical actions of the organization within assigned BBG market.
  • Support the strategic and analytic process behind all new route to market changes / restructures.
  • Identify opportunities for business growth. Communicate changes in business trends to leadership and provide guidance as to the overall impact.
  • Oversee analytics regarding customer segmentation as well as identification and optimization on relatability to BBG’s sales execution model, segmenting customers and focusing on target segments.
  • Continually provide recommendations on all aspects of data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Lead ad-hoc strategic projects and analyses. Translate business inquiries into actionable reports. Prepare written analysis and present findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Other duties, as assigned by the jobholder’s supervisor, may also be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent training and work experience
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in sales and marketing
  • Ability to think critically, both quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software
  • Must be a results-oriented professional with verbal/written communication skills using diplomacy and discretion as well as customer service skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and other analytical system tools/databases (e.g., SAP WEBI/BOBJ, PowerBI, Connected Excel, TABS Analytics, Nielsen, etc.)
  • Advanced proficiency leveraging syndicated (Nielsen, IRI, etc.), consumer, shopper research and/or category management data
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines
  • Analytic and Reporting skills
  • Utilize sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume, team environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree in business, analytics or a related field is preferred (e.g., MBA)
  • Professional experience in beverage alcohol and/or consumer package goods is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of legacy Sales organization and deep understanding of sales / pricing processes/ trade development, bus managers processes
  • Expertise in local market pricing and programming systems / regulations
  • Experience with large-scale change management and driving change through influence
