Reporting to the cluster Lead, the Director, Transfer Agency Applications - Squad Lead, is primarily responsible for managing Transfer Agency record keeping and processing applications as product owner, leading the day-to-day operation, support, and development work, partnering and collaborating with the business teams, and managing the IT squad along with offshore/contract teams.
Working with GTS leadership and business stakeholders - the Director will plan, conduct and coordinate all activities for core Transfer Agency business systems. He/She will help determine strategy and help drive strategic and tactical deliveries and approve changes that impact the business environment. The Director must align the business strategy with the Technology strategy to ensure it meets the key objectives.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate Degree in Information Technology or Business is required
  • 7 to 10 years experience in application development and systems analysis.
  • Proficient in SDLC
  • Familiarity with Natural, Adabas, UNIX environments is an asset
  • Familiar with web development
  • Good project management skills

Responsibilities:

  • Directly manages and oversees the day-to-day technology operations for transfer agency
  • Manages the in-house squad along with contract / offshore teams
  • Plans and executes modernization of existing applications to reduce cost and risk
  • Reviews and approves estimates from squad
  • Participates and coordinates disaster recovery exercises
  • Manages implementation schedules
  • Represents the squad in the change control process
  • Takes part in and/or approves budget preparation, project plans, and other proposals that would enhance the reliability, cost-effectiveness, manageability, and security of the applications, in conjunction with TMX GTS
  • Responsible for applicable procedure documentation
  • Responsible for developing and delivering squad goals
  • Responsible for managing internal & external audit activities
  • Take an active role in identifying, monitoring, managing and reporting on risk
  • Responsible for assessing compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and fulfilling the requirement
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
