Description:

The Disability Advisory and Support Service (DASS) is delighted to advertise this exciting opportunity for a Disability Adviser to join the team at the University of Manchester.
As part of the DASS, you will contribute to a client-centred specialist advice and guidance service. You will maintain your own case work portfolio providing advice and assistance for our students and overseeing their support. You will advise students on applications for external allowances and the support available to them, departments on the provision of adjustments and work closely and collaboratively with our colleagues in the Campus Life Division incorporating Advice and Response, Counselling and Mental Health and Occupational Health services. You will have excellent knowledge of the Equality Act (2010), reasonable adjustments in higher education and other relevant legislation. You will ensure you strive for continuous improvement to the DASS service.
You will be educated to at least degree standard (or equivalent) and have experience of assessing disabled students’ needs. This should include working with neurodivergent students and those who have mental health difficulties, unseen, physical and sensory disabilities to create collaborative support plans.
