We are hiring a Disability Advisor in either Fort McMurray or Calgary to support disability management. If you have nursing experience and are looking for a new challenge, apply today!
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in nursing, or equivalent experience and education
- A license to practice in Alberta and current registration with CARNA
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in emergency or occupational health
- Current CPR certification
- Completed or willing to pursue a diploma or certificate in occupational health or disability management
Responsibilities:
- Obtain, assess, and evaluate relevant information related to the employee’s case from varying third party providers to aid in safe return to work
- Exercise ethical and professional judgment in determining the appropriate collection, use and disclosure of personal health information, working closely with our privacy officer, human resources, labor relations and legal counsel
- Monitor and manage employees following an injury or illness to ensure abilities to perform job functions safely
- Minimize production interruption as it pertains to both occupational and non-occupational illness and injury
- Manage, maintain, and promote employee health while following occupational health and safety regulations
- Present disability management cases to stakeholders, highlighting timelines and risk mitigation strategies
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of a Syncrude location in Fort McMurray OR our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
- Occasional travel to site may be required
