JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an Experienced eLearning Educational Content Writer with a deep understanding of the Disability sector to join our team. You will be responsible for creating engaging, interactive, and effective learning content, through the use of real life scenarios and compelling narrative.
Your role will involve researching, writing, and designing learning materials that promote knowledge and skill development that meet the specific educational needs of the disability sector professionals from support workers to governance.
We are looking for someone who has a deep understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and industry best practices to develop exceptional learning materials that promote positive behavioural changes.
This role will be reporting to the Head of Studio and based in the Brisbane headquarters.‍

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven experience in research and writing for the disability sector.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate independently with subject matter experts, internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in the use of eLearning authoring tools or a keen desire to learn.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive results.

Responsibilities:

  • Content Development: Using your extensive experience in writing educational content, create interactive eLearning material and supporting learning artefacts, such as assessments, quizzes, knowledge checks, scenarios and video scripts that meet the needs of learners with disability, as well as those who support them. Ensure these materials align with the learning objectives of the subject matter and ensure high levels of learner engagement.
  • Instructional Design: Apply instructional design methodologies to analyse learning needs, define learning objectives, and structure content in a logical and learner-centric manner. Ensure that the content adheres to adult learning principles and meets sector requirements. This includes ensuring all content complies with accessibility standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders as required, to gather information, validate content accuracy, and gain insights into the target audience.
  • Research and Innovation: Competently and efficiently research material on the disability sector topics to create engaging learning. Stay up-to-date with the latest eLearning trends, emerging technologies, accessibility trends and instructional methodologies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of eLearning programs.
  • Multimedia: Work with multimedia developers to integrate multimedia elements into courses like videos, gifs, and other artefacts that enhance the learning experience. Ensure all multimedia assets meet accessibility requirements.
  • Content Maintenance: Regularly update and refresh existing content to keep it relevant and up-to-date with industry trends, best practices and sector updates.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and edit content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards. Conduct thorough quality assurance checks to identify and resolve any issues before content delivery. Participate in user testing to ensure accessibility requirements are met.
  • Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and delivering content within defined timelines.
  • Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to eLearning writers and support their professional growth.
