SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of the delivery of services to people with a disability
- Diploma in relevant Social & Community Services or relevant experience
- Current unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Established influencing and negotiation skills
- A passion and drive to use your leadership capability to make an impact in the sector
- Ability to think creatively and use initiative
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Provide personalised coaching and mentoring to a team of Disability Support Workers, supporting people with disability within Supported Independent Living homes in Perth.
The successful candidate will have leadership experience and an understanding of the disability sector. Based on Perth, the role will require occasional travel and oversee multiple Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes with an on-call component and occasional shift work.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of Disability Support Workers
- Provide advice and supervision to DSWs
- Ensure staff are skilled and knowledgeable in the delivery disability services
- Facilitate and manage a partnership approach with families and supporters
- Manage budgets, compliance, reporting and staff ratios of services
- Collaborate with key stakeholders, ensuring national consistency in delivering a positive service
- Manage, monitor, and report on incidents and complaints
- Participate and share the responsibility of an on-call roster
