The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. Based in Acland, a short drive north-west of Toowoomba NAC has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.
As our mine grows, we are excited to offer the next great opportunity for an experienced Administration professional to join our team providing general office coordination and administration support to the New Acland leadership team and departments.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As the Dispatch / Noise Control Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing noise levels, environment conditions, production schedules, safety protocols and emergency procedures within mining operations. Working independently, you will have experience in dispatch and operating mobile mine equipment in an open cut coal mine.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Environmental Monitoring duties including managing noise levels by starting / stopping equipment as required, liaising with OCE’s / Supervisors to ensure mining operations are maximised, monitoring fauna detection systems and responding to changing weather conditions
- Mining Operations Monitoring duties including mining equipment and plant observing using maps, machine status, loads, dumps and Gantt charts
- Safety and emergency response by being familiar with emergency procedures and acting as the emergency communication centre if required
- Technical and Administrative tasks including using software tools for data analysis, responding to emails, and updating excel reports
- Assist production in machinery hot seat requirements
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety and regulatory requirements
