Position Summary
A Security Dispatcher plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of security systems and protocol. You will be responsible for monitoring security cameras, alarms and communication systems, as well as coordinating response to Secuity incidents. You will act as a central point of contact for security personnel, emergency services, and other relevant parties to maintain a safe and secure environment
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor security systems, including cameras, alarms and access control systems, to detect and respond to security threats and incidents.
- Dispatch security personnel to respond to alarms, emergencies, or other security related events.
- Coordinate communications between security personnel, emergency services, and other relevant parties to ensure effective response and resolution of incidents.
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents, action taken, and communication logs.
- Provide assistance and support to security staff and other employees as needed.
- Follow established protocols and procedures for handling security incidents and emergencies.
- Stay informed about security policies, procedures and best practices to ensure compliance and effectiveness of security measures.
- Work collaboratively with security team members and other departments to enhance overall security operations and maintain a safe environment for all.
Skills, Abilities & Educational Requirements:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must possess a valid AB Security License
- Must be fluent in the English language – written, verbal and reading skills.
- Must possess valid first aid or be willing to obtain it.
- A Class 5 (Non-GDL) License and a clean driver’s abstract for driving positions (Strong Asset)
- Computer skills ability to learn technology devices (phones, equipment)
- Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Have excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
- Must be physically fit and able to stand, walk, sit for long periods at a time.
- Have exceptional attention to detail to fulfill duties and responsibilities and incident report writing.
- Willing to work a variety of shifts including over-nights and weekends.
- Former RCMP/Military experience and Military family member (Strong Asset)
- Education and/or background in Law Enforcement (Strong Asset)
