QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in load planning/dispatch is required.
  • Proficiency with computers, freight docks, and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent geographical understanding of Calgary and surrounding areas is a must.
  • Ideal candidates will have AS/400 experience, and knowledge of LTL operations.
  • Ability to handle tight deadlines and maintain composure in stressful environments.
  • Critical and logical thinking skills.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Search (conducted during the interview process at no cost).
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate city driver fleet

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are currently seeking an experienced Dispatcher/Load Planner - City P & D (LTL) Operations to join our dynamic team. The Load Planner/Dispatcher will be responsible for strategically planning and coordinating the movement of inbound freight to maximize efficiency and meet customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in logistics and transportation, with a keen eye for detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, visualize, track, and coordinate inbound freight onto trailers and trucks based on customer requirements, freight dimensions, equipment availability, and delivery schedules.
  • Build and adjust load plans based on real-time data and changing circumstances.
  • Utilize transportation management systems (AS/400) to track and manage freight.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve any issues that arise during the loading process.
