POSITION SUMMARY
The Dispatcher/Planner (5-month contract with the possibility of extension) is responsible for supporting and monitoring all on road activities completed by drivers during the shift. Your role involves assigning routes and loads to drivers, monitoring their progress, and ensuring on-time deliveries while responding to unforeseen challenges such as traffic or weather disruptions. Additionally, you will maintain effective communication with drivers, customers, and other departments to streamline logistics and contribute to the efficient and reliable operation of our trucking services.
- Location: 1115 Cardiff Blvd., Mississauga
- Position: 5-month contract with the possibility of extension
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
What you will do
Providing daily support with customers / drivers both internal and external
- Ensure all expectations and service levels are met
- Working in a time sensitive, fast paced environment as part of a cohesive service driven team
- Respond to incoming calls and emails
- Serve as first point of contact for customers / drivers answer incoming calls and emails
- Daily contact with customers / drivers, regarding orders, pickups and deliveries
- Respond and comply with other tasks, which may be reasonably assigned during the course of and in addition to the completion of normal duties.
- Daily data entry of paperwork, audit of process, to ensure all information is correct, include attachment of pro bills and trip numbers as required
- Daily planning of local dispatch and other duties as required.
- Order entry and customer follow up
- Administrative support as required with data entry, order entry
- Other duties as required
