Scope:
Functions as an ambassador for the distillery and its products, giving the customer the best possible experience as they tour the facilities and taste the whiskies.
Basic Function:
Customer focused hospitality professional who runs distillery tours and sells products in the distillery shop.
Responsibilities:
Leadership / Planning / Administration:
Meets and greets all visitors and tourists in a professional courteous manner. Runs tours through the distillery, including Discover, Tasting and Premium tours. Promote the sale of the products to the visitors, including the whiskies and branded items. Assist the Sales & Marketing team when required.
- Ensures uniform application and consistency of Company policies and procedures and develops good employee relations.
- Builds company image by collaborating with employees and customers, following and enforcing ethical business practices.
Production / Safety / Quality / Environmental:
Ensure the Visitor Centre is kept clean, tidy and free from hazards at all time. Drive safety initiatives. Ensure that safe working conditions exist and that all programs and policies are effectively implemented and practiced.
- Ensure compliance with BF quality policies, standards, and systems.
HR Management:
- Works with other Visitor Centre personnel in Scotland and Home Place personnel in Louisville to ensure standards are consistently applied.
Financial Management:
Promote the sale of the products to the visitors, including the whiskies and branded items. Ensure the till is managed and balanced as per the training provided.
- Ensure the Visitor Centre shop is stocked appropriately.
- Perform monthly stock checks in the Visitor Centre.
Must Requirements:
- Face to face customer service or retail experience
- Must be fluent in English
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Strong people skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Keen attention to detail, with a commitment to follow through and follow-up
- Must act in a professional manner in all situations
Preferred Experience:
- Some interest in whisky or the whisky industry
- Experience in the hospitality industry
- Experience using a POS till
