Are you interested in building the most secure GPUs based products?
NVIDIA is looking for an outstanding engineer who is a highly motivated, creative, strong leader with proven experience in low-level system software and security to join the GPU Firmware team. A successful candidate should bring a proven track record of driving roadmaps from early planning phases to at-scale deployments meeting high availability and robustness requirements. You will work across a broad slice of the company spanning hardware, firmware, platform requirements and architecture, defensive and offensive security practices, and vulnerability research for GPU firmware as well firmware for other devices on GPU platforms. You will also engage with key external partners and industry consortiums to align roadmaps and solutions.
We build the root of trust firmware for GPUs that provides secure boot, update, and attestation services for all our GPU products from gaming to AI servers in the datacenter. We want your help to build an industry leading security posture for a security critical component across all these products.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop GPU Security Whitepapers, Threat Models, and other associated documentation to facilitate first party and third-party audits.
  • Perform design and threat analysis of firmware and hardware designs, to ensure security properties and robustness of our products.
  • Identify vulnerabilities in our firmware, build proof of concepts, and drive remediation.
  • Promote and drive adoption of new or improved tools, practices, and plans to increase product robustness and reliability.
  • Work within a larger virtual security team on other parts of the GPU stack.

What we need to see:

  • Deep experience in system software engineering with strong C-skills and low-level software development.
  • Experience with threat modeling, formal design analysis, hardware/firmware architecture and other demonstrable security experience in a defensive security focused role.
  • Experience with secure coding practices and tooling - static analysis, dynamic analysis, fuzzing, and code coverage.
  • Ability to collaborate and accomplish complex goals, internally as well as with customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • 18+ years in the system architecture, firmware, and security domains.
  • MS/PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Background with reversing engineering and exploitation, penetration techniques and tools.
  • Experience with vulnerability research.
  • Experience with formally proven languages.
  • Participation and contributions in standards bodies such as OCP and DMTF.
