Description:

Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Delta, British Columbia. The person hired will work to ensure warehousing leading standards throughout the Distribution Centre with a high focus on health and safety, cleanliness, working conditions of the facility and ensuring material handling equipment is maintained operational ready. Using analytical data and operational metrics the successful applicant will be expected to meet performance goals and identify operational efficiencies whilst delivering the first class experience our customers expect from us daily.
The hours of this position are TBD, mornings, afternoons, evenings Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentorship and supervision to all warehouse employees.
  • Promote a culture of safety at every opportunity with employees. Ensure safety procedures are being followed strictly and that work is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Supervise the daily workflow in the areas of order picking, receiving and truck loading.
  • Identify process improvements, increase efficiency and productivity to achieve budget targets and operational metrics.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure effective internal and external customer service.
  • Ensure standard productivity and error standards are consistently met.
  • Provide orientation and ongoing training.
  • Assess manpower requirements necessary to maintain established service levels.
  • Support co-workers on day shift / night shift when required.

    Qualifications

  • Qualified candidates will have 2+ years’ supervisory experience in a transportation/operational/distribution environment.

  • A College Diploma or a equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred, within distribution, logistics and transportation.
  • Transportation routing experience.
  • Experience leading employees in a unionized work environment.
  • Experience in training, motivating, coaching employees.
  • Excellent written/oral communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and have excellent time management skills.
  • Strong planning, organization, and customer relations skills.
  • Excellent leadership, customer relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate with Windows based software programs, Transportation tracking systems and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

Working/Other Conditions:

  • Indoor office environment, within a dry climate-controlled warehouse environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment.
  • Prolong periods of sitting, and computer and phone use.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment – company supplied.
  • Ability to work extended hours, which may be required from time to time.
  • Willing to travel for onboarding/training purposes.

Salary: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00
