Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Team Lead to join our company!
As a member of the DC Leadership Team, under the direction of the DC Supervisor, the Team Lead takes pride in providing support and leadership to the Distribution Team. They will work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to support day-to-day operations, ensure service levels are met, and drive continuous improvement, quality, and throughput. Team Leads will develop the DC team by focusing on individual performance to achieve high standards, whilst fostering a culture of working safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and ensure the execution of priorities, targets and operational requirements
  • Lead by example and model teamwork by spending time picking and packing
  • Coach team members and provide feedback to maximize performance of the team as a whole
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration and continuous improvement within the distribution center
  • Gain a deep understanding of the Warehouse Management System used within the DC, LFS
  • Act as a point of contact for system related issues, troubleshooting problems and coordinating resolutions
  • Execute daily cart audits for picking accuracy and maintain records
  • Execute daily box audits for reviewing pack out process and adherence to SOP
  • Manage the schedule board for role rotations in a fair manner
  • Co-lead department stand ups
  • Support P&W with recruitment
  • Assist in new hire and on-going employee training
  • Establish SOP on training and equipment operation
  • Support in keeping DC operational policies and procedures up to date
  • Ensure all picking equipment is operational at shift startup
  • Ensure pack stations are fully stocked at shift start up and supported throughout the shift
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support 5S and Safety initiatives
  • Identify risks and issues in daily DC meetings and report to DC Supervisor to support
  • Support management of time clock and attendance system
  • Other duties as assigned

What you have:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a distribution center or similar environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a team and collaborate
  • Detail oriented mindset
  • Ability to change priorities and work in a fast-paced, KPI driven environment
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software relevant to operations
  • Ability to stand, sit, or stoop for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and slide heavy weights up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds above shoulder level
