Our Emerging Talent Programs, which includes Interns, Trainees, and Finance Rotational Associates, offer unique opportunities for students, recent graduates, and emerging talent to work alongside the teams that come together to create movies, TV shows, and other great experiences. These seasonal, paid assignments provide meaningful and productive work that allows you to build on your experience and develop your skills further. You will be provided with challenging tasks, real-world experience, and many educational and social networking opportunities.
This Fall Internship is from September through December 13th (start and end dates are flexible based on school schedules) and all candidates must be able to work part-time hours (10-29 a week). Our offices are open Monday through Friday, 9-6 pm. This position is ideal for a student enrolled in an accredited college or university. A hybrid work structure may or may not be available.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Canadian Home Entertainment Distribution team is responsible for driving transactional digital film and television revenue (EST/VOD) and physical bricks & mortar and online retail sales for SPE’s portfolio of feature film and television content across Canadian digital and physical retailers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferred experience with Airtable software, advanced Excel skills and database management
  • Demonstrable knowledge of and interest in the home entertainment media landscape
  • Passion for film and television content
  • Familiarity with entertainment business models
  • Understanding of general product strategy
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with multiple levels of management
  • Ability to influence process improvement and innovation
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize successfully
  • Self-motivated and dedicated to performing above expectations
  • Exceptional facility with MS Excel
  • Demonstrable analytical and mathematical skills
  • Highly organized
  • Pursuing a degree in business, economics, accounting, or a related field

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and record the ratings and registration information for physical and digital releases
  • Work closely with third party vendor to track French packaging approvals
  • Keep detailed tracking of costs associated with French language packaging
  • Uploading of screeners to secure FTP sites
  • Monitoring of system generated reporting
  • Assist account managers in documenting retailer capabilities and competitive strategies, and building out “playbooks” on these subjects to be used and updated in the long-term
  • Monitoring digital storefronts to ensure retailer compliance on new release/promotional placement & pricing, general title/format/resolution/language availability; monitor SVOD/AVOD platforms to ensure window compliance, reducing TVOD cannibalization
  • Analytical support to update platform cannibalization rates, new release sell-down rates, and assess internal/competitive promo performance
  • Assistance with refreshing cyclical reports as well as ad-hoc reporting requests
  • Administrative support with internal systems to facilitate price testing, promotional analysis, and day-to-day account management
  • Other department duties as required
