Job Description:
Venator is currently recruiting for a Distribution Officer to join the team at the Greatham site.
The overall purpose of the Distribution Officer is to ensure adequate stocks of raw materials are available to meet the requirements of the site production plan whilst also ensuring the product is dispatched to customers on time and in full.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Organise and carry out raw material requirements planning (MRP) activities including forecasting, scheduling, SAP reconciliation and calling off supplies to ensure adequate stocks of raw materials are available to meet the requirements of the site production plan. Inclusive of sister site requirements of titanium tetrachloride & linked tanker monitoring vs inspection cycle.
  • Coordinate and carry out raw material inbound receipt, handling, storage, stock checks, stock control and review activities in support of an effective MRP process.
  • Coordinate the timely communication of raw material and EHS delivery information to relevant personnel.
  • Lead, facilitate and support the investigation of raw material non-complinances, ensuring timeliness, thoroughness and effectiveness.
  • Carry out invoice validation & investigation to maintain payment runs.
  • Coordinate the successful resolution of material related issues, whilst maintaining positive relationships with drivers, haulers, material supplier companies and plant teams.
  • Monitor the EHS and service performance of haulers, suppliers, and service providers, and share the information with the purchasing team for supplier/contract reviews.
  • Organise and carry out selection, preparation, dispatch, documentation, and QA activities to ensure products are distributed to satisfy the logistics plan, whilst ensuring product EHS requirements are met.
  • Liaise with third party service providers, plant teams and the supply chain function to ensure materials are dispatched and distributed on time and in full.
  • Support the investigation of product complaints and non-compliances in line with QA processes, ensuring timeliness, thoroughness and effectiveness.
  • Carry out stock control at Greatham (inc external warehouses)
  • Organise day to day distribution team activities when distribution manager is not present, namely attend the site manufacturing meeting, plan and organize warehouse team resources to ensure product is ready for dispatch in line with supply chain standards.
  • Live and demonstrate behaviours that drive a positive values based culture.

Candidate requirements:

Job-Related work experience, Skills/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Further education qualification e.g. HND or equivalent in a relevant subject ie. business administration
  • Effective planning and organisational skills are essential for this job, as is an attention to detail.
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • The job holder must be proficient in business IT systems eg. SAP, Excel
