Position Description:

As a Distribution Operations Associate, you will be responsible for learning and contributing in a cross-functional team environment while performing the following responsibilities:

  • Train and shadow fellow team members from the following departments: Contracts, Pricing, Customer Relations, Field Operations, and Warehouse, and Shipping in a rotational-type program.
  • Learn business processes, operations, and relevant software technologies by shadowing the different roles within the above departments.
  • Complete on-the-job training and workshops.
  • Learn and use Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) management systems Enterprise Resource Planning/Material Requirements Planning (ERP/MRP), along with enterprise scale applications, such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
  • Support and maintain existing systems that support one or more of the above departments.
  • Identify, present, and contribute to process improvement projects.
  • Participate in the implementation of new systems and solutions.
  • Perform key functions within each of the above departments, including but not limited to, completing transactions, running reports, managing projects, and evaluating processes.
  • Participate in capacity planning and identifying resource needs.
  • Learn quality control procedures, department standard operating procedures (SOPs), and understand compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the senior members of internal teams to support enterprise systems and business processes related to the above departments.

Position Requirements:

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Operations and Supply Chain Management.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Curiosity and interest in an operations and business career.
  • Initiative to drive change.
  • Eagerness to adopt a team-player attitude within a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment.
  • Prioritize projects and daily tasks while maintaining flexibility.

Preferred:

The following position requirements are preferred:

  • Interest in Operations Management, Data Analytics, and Information Systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Prior experience in SAP or other ERP data management systems.
  • Working knowledge of process-driven work environments.
