Description:

Reporting to the Network Delivery Manager, you will manage and successfully deliver distribution projects that support the business objectives and strategic goals of Northpower Network.

Based in Whangarei’s Network Delivery team, your key accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver a programme of distribution projects in a structured and transparent manner
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and budgets
  • Manage projects through the project lifecycle in accordance with internal governance procedures.
  • Proactive identification and management of project and programme level risks and issues, including clear reporting and prompt escalation where required.
  • Effective contractor management, working collaboratively to ensure projects are delivered to scope, within their required timeframes and budget.
  • Effectively manage and collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved
  • Champion project and programme management disciplines throughout the organization
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Network delivery team and work with the team to foster a collaborative, positive and motivated culture
  • Champion Health and Safety as a best practice

Responsibilities:

  • Minimum 5 years programme or project management experience in the power or construction sector
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver multiple projects at once
  • Confident decision-maker and adept problem-solver
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Natural ability to collaborate, engage, and challenge where required
  • Proven ability to articulate and present reports professionally to senior leadership teams
  • Strategic thinker with solid financial acumen
  • Enjoy working in team environments and willing to step up for the team as required, also able to work self-directed, under minimum supervision
  • Strong safety focus
  • APMP or PMI project management qualification is preferred
  • An understanding of electrical distribution networks is advantageou
