JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Distribution Specialist – Recombinant Proteins (REP)

POSITION SUMMARY

Our Recombinant Proteins (REP) Business Unit in Cranbury, NJ is part of our Biosciences Division. REP unites deep scientific expertise with a collaborative culture to build a product portfolio that includes cytokines, growth factors, antibodies and ELISA kits used to support the research of our academic, government, biotech, and pharmaceutical customers.
The Distribution Specialist is responsible for fulfillment of all aspects of distributor and intercompany orders. The individual in this role will combine logistical planning with strong communication skills to ensure efficient and accurate distribution of products. The Distribution Specialist position plays an essential role in the coordination, communication and management of intercompany orders, as well as working with other distributors to fulfil orders.

EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED required, Associate degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with international shipping.
  • Experience with logistics of orders relating to international distributors.
  • Experience working in the life sciences or other GMP regulated industry strongly preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of applicable SOP/GMP processes and documents.
  • Knowledge of and ability to navigate systems such as CRM and ERP systems for order processing.
  • Ability to perform requirements of the role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including handling conflict.
  • Highly self-motivated.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong computer skills, software application proficiency and database management especially Word, Excel and other programs as required.
  • Capability of working without direct supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail, and ability to detect errors and inconsistencies in various types of documents.
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently perform tasks.
  • Knowledge of Global Trade Compliance.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the use and importance of HTS Codes.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standard and certification requirements preferred, or training will be provided as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication between Corporate Sales Manager, distributors, and customers.
  • Communicate with QA/Tech Support for all client inquires and any other guidance or questions related to applicable GMP/ISO processes.
  • Control of the documentation according to applicable ISO 9001 guidelines from quotes, order processing, pick/ship, tracking, shipping logistics, customs, taxes, and other related tasks.
  • Control of supply chain (from quotation process to end-user receiving).
  • Archiving of required documents.
  • Participate in the coordination and processing of all distributor orders and in-takes.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify potential stock shortages.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding their orders and deliveries.
  • Assist with other Customer Service duties during downtime.
  • Follow ISO 9001 and GMP guidelines, where applicable.
