Description:
Does your passion lie in community nursing?
An opportunity has arisen to further your nursing career within our District Nursing Service as a District Nursing Locality Lead in the South West locality in Oxfordshire.
You will be responsible for leading a District Nursing Team, operationally line managing staff and focusing on clinical service development and educational workstreams with senior service leads.
You will work in an integrated way with other the District Nursing Locality Lead and Advanced District Nurse Specialist to lead the District Nursing locality.
You will work clinically within the District Nursing locality, with patients in their own homes, clinics and care homes.
The Oxfordshire District Nursing service is a dynamic and forward-thinking service and is involved in national community nursing initiatives. The service has a well-established career progression framework and is developing further opportunities at a senior level for clinical leadership.

To provide strong, integrated clinical leadership and management of the District Nursing team, working especially closely with the District Nursing Lead – Advanced District Nurse Specialist.
To lead on the educational agenda in the area, and to lead on specific educational work streams.
To lead on service development in the District Nursing team, ensuring delivery of skilled nursing care to patients whose needs are best met in the community.
To act as a conduit between the integrated leadership team and the District Nursing team.
To be accountable for the management, development and supervision of identified staff within the team.
To work as part of an integrated locality team.
To work in partnership to reduce hospital admission and facilitate discharge.
To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Deputise for 8a Operations Manager and Matrons.
What we need from you!
A qualified Registered Nurse with previous District or Community Nursing Experience with proven Leadership Skills
Passion and drive for developing your clinical skills in a changeable environment.
A keen interest in new and upcoming technologies within Nursing and Healthcare.
Be self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing initiative and promoting new ideas on how to improve the service.
Be compassionate, caring and creative with excellent communication skills.
A flexible and positive attitude.
