MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE:

- Two (2) years relevant experience or comparable job duties required.
- Experience with landlord/tenant mediation and/or general conflict resolution skills required.
- Ability to work with people who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness/chemical dependency required.
- Ability to think fast, productively, and creatively required.
- Ability to work with diverse populations with diverse worldviews and perspectives required.
- Knowledgeable about housing programs, city regulations including landlord/tenant law, and lease comprehension preferred.
- Experience conducting intake and assessment processes preferred.
- Working knowledge of Hennepin County community resources for low-income residents, system navigation and assisting people with benefit and program eligibility preferred.
- Demonstrated skill in relationship building including excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal required; ability to speak a second language preferred.
- Excellent computer skills including experience with HMIS and Microsoft Office products preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Provide diversion services to callers seeking emergency shelter in Henn Co: Conduct initial screening, crisis intervention/referral, and diversion tactics; work with callers on identifying viable diversion strategies to prevent shelter entrance.
- Implement diversion strategies that may include landlord/tenant negotiations, conflict resolution/mediation, and making connections to a wide variety of community services.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with our Shelter Access Point partners: Family Shelter Team, and Adult Shelter Connect and other community partners.
- Ensure data tracking requirements are met: HMIS client entries, assigned spreadsheets, and case notes up to date. Provide reports as assigned.
- Stay well informed about community resources and various service providers as well as referral procedures.
- Administer financial assistance for eligible Tier 2 clients for damage deposits, rent, etc. and prepare relevant correspondence and forms as necessary (Guarantee Letter).
- Work with Program Manager and Unit Manager on program evaluation and goals.
- Ensure the program significantly and consistently contributes to the positive community culture that promotes learning, diversity, problem solving, resourcefulness, accountability, and excellence in serving people experiencing homelessness.
- Represent Catholic Charities at community events as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
