We are currently hiring a DME Manager for our Hinsdale division (based in our Hinsdale office). The DME Manager supervises all processes involving Durable Medical Equipment (DME) for all locations of our Hinsdale division, which is comprised of our offices in Hinsdale, Westmont, Western Springs, Downers Grove, Naperville, Joliet, New Lenox and Munster:

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates/manages all ordering and management of all DME.
  • Coordinates the billing process to ensure success of the program.
  • Responsible for P&L of the DME business segment and understands every aspect of DME as it affects P&L.
  • Oversees DME staff to ensure that work is completed accurately and in a timely manner while adhering to IBJI policies and procedures.
  • Evaluates and prioritizes daily departmental workload and schedules employees appropriately to ensure adequate coverage and ability to meet work deadlines.
  • Coordinates training for Medical Assistants on DME policies and fitting procedures throughout the Hinsdale division.
  • Ensures the confidentiality of patient information and organizational systems, forms etc as per HIPAA regulations.
  • Documents all information necessary for accurate billing of claims.
  • Works with ancillary program coordinators to promote and enhance ancillary programs.
  • Coordinates patient fitting and treatment activities in the clinic setting.
  • Ensures all necessary medical records/x-rays/reports/forms, etc. related to the patient’s DME product fitting and billing are available for precertification.
  • Ensures the adequacy of necessary supplies and cleanliness within the exam rooms and clinic area.
  • Provides patient care as per physician’s direction/orders. Assists physician and physician’s staff with DME fitting and patient follow up.
  • Monitors and ensures the accurate completion of patient charge tickets.
  • Reinforces patient/family education and processes.
  • Resolves patient concerns in a timely manner.
  • Addresses employee disciplinary issues adhering to policy/procedure. Maintains accurate records of all disciplinary actions taken.
  • Ensures adherence to all Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Practice Administrator to address all unresolved employee/departmental issues.
  • Serves as a liaison between Administration, Physicians and staff ensuring that all staff within the department are viewed/treated as “team” members.
  • Keeps Director of Operations informed regarding departmental operations, issues, needs, etc.
  • Is supportive of Managers/departments responsibilities/needs and promotes cooperative efforts between departments.
  • Communicates with all staff all changes in policies and procedures with regard to DME operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Athletic Training, Kinesiology or related Health Sciences.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a healthcare environment. Minimum of 2 years supervision experience preferred.
  • DME experience required.
  • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
