Description:

Join Noorka Logistics in Dubai as a Document Controller, where your expertise will be vital in managing and organizing project documentation with precision. In this role, you will coordinate with various teams to ensure that all project-related documents are accurately maintained, distributed, and updated in a timely manner.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Coordinate with supervision to prepare project schedules and define document distribution lists.
  • Ensure proper segregation of documents as per categorization procedures within the yard or department.
  • Label and update the database for all documents accurately.
  • Manage folders by defining them appropriately, verifying access controls, and ensuring efficient use of storage spaces.
  • Receive and distribute all project data to the concerned team members with appropriate transmittals and acknowledgment systems.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Project Management, and Commercial teams to resolve disputes related to document numbering and revisions.
  • Ensure that all documents are controlled through proper revision management in collaboration with preparators and supervision.
  • Work with onboard and shop supervision to ensure that the latest documents are in use, and supersede previous revisions with proper stamps.
  • Assist supervision in preparing project programs and rescheduling project plans according to the defined document distribution plan.
  • Support the documentation and planning team to maintain accurate details by effectively communicating the latest document revisions.
  • Ensure timely submission of all documents as per defined procedures by coordinating with preparators and supervision.
  • Monitor man-hour consumption on a project basis and highlight discrepancies to the supervisor in charge and managers.
  • Assist the Foreman-Planning in preparing individual critical project run-down curves and updating weekly progress for supervisors and managers.
  • Verify man-hour bookings against correct sequence numbers in line with drawings and trackers, and highlight any disputes to the concerned supervision.
  • Calculate man-hours and preplan piping execution procedures.
  • Actively assist supervisors in implementing programs.
  • Review 5-week plans and ensure manpower is allocated in line with project requirements.

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATION & SKILLS:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in piping construction, preferably in a shipyard or similar construction industry.
  • At least 4 years of planning experience, including division of work scope within modules/locations through all stages of construction activities.
  • Competency in reading piping drawings, understanding material grades, and other basic process details.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ship construction and the relationships between trades.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic familiarity with Primavera.
  • Ability to extract information from available drawings, AutoCAD, spool trackers, and weld maps.
  • Strong presentation skills and proficiency in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and performance measurement techniques.
  • Higher secondary school diploma or a degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with MS Project, MS Word, Excel, and Primavera.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
