GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to provide support to Orenco by preparing and assembling outgoing documents, routing and distributing incoming and internal documents, and performing general clerical activities.
Part-to-full time (conditional on performance, workload, and other factors).

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • At least one year of office experience, or demonstrated equivalent ability is preferred.
  • Minimum typing speed of 35 wpm, with emphasis on accuracy.
  • Competent writing and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Good verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to accurately file both alpha and numeric.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, courteous, and customer service oriented manner.
  • Basic computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet basics, and accurate data entry.
  • Legible handwriting is required.
  • Thorough attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • A strong work ethic, including focused, on-task work performance with a minimum of interruptive behaviors and a professional, positive attitude.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to priority changes with little notice and to remain calm during confrontational or high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to use sound judgement and follow through in problem solving and decision making processes.
  • Must be willing and able to travel locally.
  • Must be able to meet and maintain Orenco’s approved driver criteria; a valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, current insurance on personal vehicle, and meet company insurability requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, legible handwriting, keyboarding, prolonged periods of sitting including extended time viewing a computer screen. Intermittent physical activity includes but is not limited to touching, holding, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching above shoulders and below knees, low back bending, twisting, turning, kneeling, crawling, stooping, squatting. standing, walking, and climbing stairs and ladders. Unassisted light lifting and/or carrying of under 20 lbs. is required. May also include occasional unassisted lifting and/or carrying of up to 50 lbs., lifting and/or carrying over 50 lbs. must be assisted.
Operation of a motor vehicle is required. Travel needs are determined by the department supervisor and based on business need and assigned job tasks and responsibilities

Responsibilities:

> ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides receptionist coverage during breaks, lunch, and absences. This is a primary back-up job duty and occurs on an everyday basis.
  • Takes and distributes telephone messages when necessary.
  • Sends facsimiles and troubleshoots faxing problems.
  • Monitors printer operations and troubleshoots problems.
  • Files completed literature request forms.
  • Pulls small order parts from inventory for order fulfillment.
  • Ensures that printers and copiers are stocked with paper and toner supplies at the end of each day. Assists others to resolve printer/copier issues, paper jams, etc.
  • Follows department SOP (standard operating procedure) for end of day procedure in kitchen, break room, conference rooms, mailroom, and window check.
    > Performs data entry as needed.
    > Work to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional long hours may be required.
    > Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
    > Performs other duties as assigned.
