Description:

OVERVIEW

The Domestic Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Cook with food preparation and the Cleaner with daily cleaning and housekeeping duties.

Kitchen duties will include:

  • Assist with lunch preparation which will also include support of both lunch services
  • Assist in the set up of the dining room for lunch and taking down of dining tables for use of dining hall for lessons
  • Washing up after lunch services
  • Cleaning of the dining room and kitchen floor after service
  • Assist the Cook with cleaning down and locking up the kitchen
  • Maintain the required levels of hygiene in line with Health and Safety regulations
  • Perform additional tasks as needed by the Cook.

Domestic Duties will involve:

  • Daily cleaning throughout the whole school, including classrooms, specialist teaching rooms, staff rooms, offices and all internal circulation spaces according to work schedules and set standards
  • To maintain all bathroom, toilet and shower areas in a hygienic condition according to set
  • standards
  • Participating in thorough deep cleaning of the school, especially for special events
  • Using a range of cleaning equipment, aids and agents, including vacuum cleaners, floor polishers and a range of appropriate cleaning materials
  • Collecting of waste from bins, including recycling bins
  • Adhering to good health and hygiene practices
  • Storing safely all cleaning materials at the end of the duty period in the appropriate storage facility
  • Other reasonable additional duties which may be required from time to time.
