Description:

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated domiciliary care assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals in their own homes, ensuring their comfort and well-being. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to implement care plans and assist with daily living activities, fostering a positive environment for our service users.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience as a domiciliary care assistant is essential.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS is required.
  • Current mandatory training is required.
  • The applicant must be the holder of or be working towards the Care Certificate.
  • Strong communication skills in English are required to interact effectively with service users and team members.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of service users is essential.
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential along with the use of a car.
  • Two UK professional references
  • Familiarity with IT systems will be beneficial for record keeping and communication tasks.
  • A Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) (Switch) will be available to the right candidate following a probationary period.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist service users with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support service users in maintaining their independence by encouraging participation in daily activities.
  • Implement and follow care plans tailored to each service user’s needs, ensuring their health and safety.
  • Assist service users generally with light housework and meal preparation.
  • Where appropriate, assist in giving medication (following training).
  • Moving and handling service users.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on their progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of service user care and report any changes in condition to the appropriate personnel.
  • Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes, ensuring that all information is up-to-date and accurate.
