JOB DESCRIPTION:

Freedom Plasma is seeking a Donor Center Technician II to join our team in Clarksville, TN. The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude and customer service experience, with the flexibility to work Saturdays from 7am-3pm and at least 4 other days throughout the week, working an 8-hour shift for a total of 40 hours per week on a closing shift from 12pm-8:30pm.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of work experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
  • Frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knee.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods up to four (4) hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift, tug, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform donor medical evaluations, determining donor suitability, and assessing donor adverse events.
  • Greet and register new plasma donors into the donor management computer system.
  • Conduct screening procedures, including taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checks.
  • Perform finger sticks for hematocrit testing and total protein testing utilizing screening equipment.
  • Monitor the electronic donor questionnaire system.
  • Determine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, including medical history interviews and physical examinations.
  • Educate donors on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Provide counseling to donors regarding unacceptable test results.
  • Initiate and assist in donor investigations regarding post-donation information.
  • Evaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation process.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures for medical emergencies, including communication with the Center Medical Director and donor transport to emergency medical care facilities.
  • Communicate and seek direction from the Center Medical Director and Center Management as necessary.
  • Maintain thorough familiarity and compliance with all state and federal regulations, SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, cGMP, and internal company procedures.
  • Maintain an open line of communication with Management.
  • Ensure and maintain the confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors.
  • Accept performance feedback in a professional manner.
  • Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
