Job Title: Donor Communications Specialist

Salary Band: 4($52,000 - $75,000 CAD)
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3-5 years’ experience in fundraising and/or stewardship communications in a not-for-profit organization
- Demonstrated experience developing and writing communications for a variety of channels, including print, digital and video – with a strong portfolio to share
- Post-secondary education, preferably in fundraising, marketing or communications
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
- Effective storyteller with strong instincts for emotional storytelling and donor-centricity
- Outstanding writing and editing skills
- Experience working with and editing video/raw footage is an asset
- Strong project management, time management, and prioritization skills
- Experience with donor/member stewardship and/or customer service programs
- Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in & support the content development, execution, optimization and expansion of the national mass marketing stewardship program across the donor lifecycle to improve retention and support a best-in-class donor experience.
- Create engaging and effective content to support stewardship, cultivation, and fundraising tactics across mass products, segments, and channels, such as post-campaign communications and standalone stewardship touchpoints, including customization for product and audience segments as needed
- Support the development and execution of key donor account management communications including annual updates, copy and review support for tax receipts and autoresponders as needed across mass products, segments, and channels
- Provide creative and strategic support for the development and implementation of new product journey experiences and expansion to new stewardship channels, including voicemail drops, scripts, and SMS tactics
- Lead the ongoing maintenance and annual review of mass marketing evergreen communications, including annual content refreshes and ad hoc required updates as they arise.
- Manage and coordinate internal content development processes including translation, as well as providing support for the build, testing and deployment of stewardship tactics with cross-functional implementation and execution teams
- Provide creative input, review, and editing throughout the content development process across stewardship channels and programs, including direct mail, digital, and video tactics
- Keep up to date with stewardship communication performance analytics and contribute to the recommendation of strategic adjustments and strategies to improve engagement across the stewardship portfolio
- Build key internal relationships across CCS to support the streamlined development of stewardship communications, including content verification and approvals, as well as to source content opportunities, facts and statistics
- Liaise & collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve the donor experience
- Provide project management and administrative support to the Donor Communications and Stewardship team, including acting as a backup for the team as needed
- Contribute to the content development of new Mass Marketing initiatives
- Work in compliance with the provisions of The Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, and comply with the Canadian Cancer Society’s Health & Safety Policy
