The ideal candidate will maintain, repair and assemble a wide variety of mechanical products such as mud motors, drilling jars and shock tools. This role plays an essential part in ensuring a high level of quality and reliability of field assets and significantly reducing the risk of field failures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience in automotive technology or as an automotive service technician is an asset
  • Must be mechanically inclined and enjoy working with power tools and precision instruments
  • Strong organizational skills and experience in keeping equipment, tools and inventory organized, efficient and stored safely
  • Experience operating a forklift, overhead cranes and precision instruments is preferred
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs and display a strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to work in a safety sensitive environment and comply with pre-access and site-specific health and safety requirements including Fitness testing
  • Display a strong work ethic and reliability
  • Live within close proximity to Nisku, AB and be ready and available to work extra hours as needed to get equipment mobilized and ready for projects requiring such urgency

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, repair and assemble prefabricated parts to form subassemblies or finished products using hand and power tools
  • Complete a wide variety of maintenance and repair activities and ensure equipment performs to a very high standard
  • Review work orders and equipment requisition details to ensure quality standards are met
  • Track, report and keep documentation on tools, equipment, parts inventory, recurring issues/problems and regular maintenance activities
  • Keep work area and shop clean, organized, efficient with a focus on maintaining high safety standards
  • Assist with basic training on general maintenance activities, repair and assembly of downhole tools for more junior personnel
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality control/assurance, pride of workmanship and reduced field failures
