EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITY

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in residential building and drafting
  • Diploma of Building Design (or higher)
  • Advanced knowledge of Local authority controls, NCC and Australian Standards
  • A high degree of knowledge in residential construction methods
  • Understanding of design methodology
  • Ability to work cohesively with key stakeholders eg construction, sales and customers

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking an experienced Drafting and Documentation Manager that thrives in a fast-paced and technically challenging environment. This will be a hands-on Drafting Manager role which will require overall management of the Drafting Team, Design and external resource management and execution of their work in a quality, timely, and efficient manner.

REPORTING TO THE DRAFTING & PERMITS MANAGER, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

You will be responsible for managing drafting and designing Rawson projects, ensuring technical requirements, schedules, and quality commitments are met, developing effective strategies, and maintaining responsive client relationships.

  • Provide expert advice and oversee the drafting process for multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client specifications.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment by Conducting regular team meetings to discuss project updates, challenges, and solutions.
  • Role involves monitoring project budgets, controlling costs, utilizing technical experience, promoting safety, contributing to divisional management, enforcing Rawson’s strategic direction, managing employee performance, and negotiating best practices.
  • Liaising with admin team to ensure projects are meeting timeframes
  • Conduct quality checks and reviews to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Manage expectations of all internal and external stakeholders including Council, , Private Certifiers, consultants and external Drafting contractors
  • Assist customer care with Drafting-related services, escalate issues promptly, collaborate with other departments, and ensure Drafting employees use customer management programs and complete tasks.
  • Adhere to document naming conventions, comply with Australian legislation, NCC, Local Authority, and product specifications, manage workflow efficiently, prepare monthly reports, and monitor external Drafting Companies.
  • Enhance and help drafting team skills and knowledge are being developed and upskilled.
