Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Program Powerplant Leader (Level 4 or 5) to support Dreamlifter Operations in North Charleston, South Carolina.
The qualified candidate will be responsible for overseeing global propulsion operations for overhaul and repair initiatives, strategic market procurement and Life Limited Parts (LLP) provisioning to support our on wing PW4000 fleet. Candidate must have an advanced understanding of developing, maintaining and managing engine on/off-wing maintenance programs, engine shop maintenance programs and airline operations. The representative shall be capable of refining unique maintenance procedures and developing baseline support concepts and challenging inconsistencies in the day to day operation.
The position will be responsible for leading the integration activities and implementing pro-active measures used in support of Dreamlifter Operations. The candidate will act as liaison between the Dreamlifter Operations, aircraft operator, Pratt & Whitney, SRT Techniques, Kalitta Air, Delta Tech Ops, Boeing Global Services (BGS), Out of Production Engineering and other various organizations to support operational enhancements. This leader will have daily interface with Dreamlifter program leadership and lead cadence meetings with internal and external stakeholders to ensure aircraft availability and operational success. Additionally, this leader must be comfortable in reporting on project status for committed events and will be responsible for cross functional leadership.
The candidate must be willing to respond to worldwide operational Aircraft On Ground (AOG) requirements in support of 24/7 operations and must be able to work with a diverse team and in an environment that supports flexible work schedules. While the candidate does spend a significant amount of time in support of site-specific daily work, the candidate will prepare cost-effective work scope and management, short-term and long-term removal forecasts, managing shop visits to maintain healthy spares levels to support the operation. Concise knowledge of financial forecasts, tracking expense items to our budget plans, schedules, and other specialized operational protocols is required.
This position requires ability to contribute independently, work well with cross-functional teams and create and present materials in front of multi-levels of leadership. Organize, develop presentation materials and facilitate meetings utilizing appropriate technologies (e.g. WebEx) to enable communication with external suppliers and partners. Excellent oral, presentation and written communication skills are required. Periodic domestic and international travel is required to support Dreamlifter Operations. The candidate will be supporting Dreamlifter activity at each selected location and may be required to travel up to 20% of the time. Must be proficient and agile in the use of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Airline powerplant experience in line, repair and overhaul maintenance levels or other technical (engineering) functions, is required. Aircraft/engine acquisitions providing asset valuations, records reviews, maintenance program, aviation licenses (Airframe & Powerplant) and maintenance experience with the PW4000 engines is also preferred.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 10+ years of airline or propulsion system experience
  • 10+ years of experience engine maintenance programs (Engine Shop Specifications)
  • 10+ years of experience with preparing and managing engine maintenance budgets
  • 10+ years of leadership and program management experience
  • 10+ years of executive presentation experience at the senior leadership level or above
  • 10+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams, and the creation and presentation of materials to multi-levels of leadership
  • 10+ years of experience with suppliers, conducting supply chain management operational performance reviews, and suppliers
  • 10+ years of experience in leading complex teams, process improvement and complex problem solving
  • 10+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 15+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of experience working in an active airline operations role
  • 10+ years’ 747 Operations experience

EXPERIENCED (LEVEL 4):

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years’ related work experience, 14 years’ related work experience, etc.).
