Due to increasing demand for our services, we are currently seeking suitable Drill Fitter candidates for an immediate start.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION ARE:

  • Heavy diesel fitter or equivalent trade certificates
  • A heavy diesel background is essential.
  • Minimum HR Truck Licence (preferred but not essential)
  • NSW White Card (Construction Induction Card)
  • Currency of Current First Aid Certificate (preferred but not essential)
  • Current and valid RISI (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical inclusive of D&A test
  • Ability to obtain a Police Clearance upon request

Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE:

This is a great opportunity to work with a reputable professional company that is looking to expand its operations, with cutting edge machinery and technology. This position is a hybrid role where the successful candidate would be working in both Macquarie Geotechnical facilities as well as in the field. Subject to the successful candidate’s place of residence, the role can cater for both DIDO and FIFO rosters. This is a full-time position for the successful candidate which will require travel to project sites located along the eastern seaboard of Australia.
This opportunity will see the successful candidate manage fleet maintenance via company fleet maintenance management software. The successful candidate will report directly to the Geotechnical and Drilling Operations Managers however, the candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement of the maintenance management system and lead continuous Improvement within the maintenance department.

DUTIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • In alignment with MacGeo Fleet Maintenance Management Software, forecast upcoming services and communicate to PM’s at schedule meetings.
  • Identify priority repairs and maintenance of plant and equipment, developing plans to rectify in consultation with PM’s and Drilling Ops Manager.
  • Use of MacGeo Fleet Maintenance Management Software to communicate to Operations Managers (Drill + PM).
  • Organise and procure parts and equipment for defect rectification and servicing.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to field crew in relation to breakdowns.
  • Conduct servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs on assets (trucks, drill Rigs, LV’s small motors).
  • Complete associated documentation with respect to repairs, maintenance and services.
  • Support and train field personnel in correct preventative maintenance and servicing.
  • Manage and assist external maintenance contractors, bookings or inspections.
