Reporting to the Resident Experience Director, the Driver is responsible for operating the community vehicle(s) and transporting residents in a safe, timely, reliable, professional, and courteous manner while abiding by all traffic laws and safety guidelines as well as following Revel Communities policies and procedures. The Driver is also responsible for keeping the vehicle(s) clean and neat, performing daily inspections of the vehicle(s) before and after shifts, and ensuring maintenance, registrations, and insurance on the vehicle(s) is up to date while demonstrating the Culture Code that Revel Communities embraces.

Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to drive the community vehicle(s); must possess a valid Class B driver’s license issued in the state of residence
  • Ability to lift wheelchairs, walkers, bags, and/or other similar/related items into vehicle(s) required
  • Related work experience within a senior living, hospitality, or related industry highly desired
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours as well as be available to residents at peak service times and days
  • Ability to deal tactfully and professionally at all times with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills including the ability to speak in front of small groups of people
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations
  • Reasoning skills that include the ability to understand issues and process information for giving and receiving feedback and instructions
  • Ability to promote a positive, friendly, and supportive environment through our Culture Code
  • Proficiency with the use of computers, mobile devices (e.g., tablets, iPads), AV equipment/technology, and other office equipment (e.g., phones, scanners, copiers, fax machines, etc.) as well as possess familiarity with
  • Microsoft Office Suite products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the scheduling and safe transport of residents to appointments, local outings/excursions, and other planned trips as directed by the Resident Experience Director
  • Assist with the safe loading and unloading of residents ensuring all residents are properly secured before driving
  • Conduct daily inspections and safety checks on vehicle(s) before the first use and following the final use of the day
  • Ensure that the vehicle(s) are in proper operational order as well as ensuring registration and insurance information is present and up to date; promptly report any/all safety, mechanical, and/or maintenance issues to Resident Experience Director
  • Assist with scheduling transportation
  • Assist in scheduling vehicle maintenance and upkeep; willingness to detail interior and exterior of vehicle as needed
  • Assist with planned community activities and programs within the community between trips
  • Perform day-to-day clerical work associated with the position including tracking trips/residents, logging maintenance checks, etc.
  • Strive to maintain a safe working environment through the prevention of accidents and through the preservation of safe working practices
  • Comply with the company’s standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient community operations
  • Represent the company’s Culture Code a daily basis
  • Display a positive and professional image and demeanor towards residents, visitors, families, and team members through actions and maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform or clothing and name tag when working
