Operating from seven regional depots in the north of England, we have supplied the most modern, technically acceptable and competitive construction products and services for over 65 years, we are currently recruiting for two Drivers who will be based at our Leeds depot.
REQUIREMENTS:
The successful candidate must have a full clean driving licence and hold current CPC qualification
Responsibilities:
(Vehicle maintenance, scheduling & transit, loading & unloading)
- Conduct vehicle health, safety and compliance checks as required and ensure documentation/systems are updated accurately and in a timely fashion
- Carry out routine checks on vehicles such as oil, tyre and brake checks
- Inspect and clean the vehicle in line with company policy
- Complete the appropriate documentation as required under the company policies such as fuel receipts, mileage logs
- Adhere to Depot and Workshop conditions of presentation
- Ensure that the vehicle is mechanically sound and road worthy
- Ensure the load is secured safely and within the weight capacity of the vehicle
- Liaise with the Depot Manager / Hire team to organise the most efficient, cost-effective and safest route plan (inbound & outbound)
- Keep the Depot and customer informed of any delays or matters that may impact the scheduled delivery of equipment
- Adhere to the rules of the road, keeping informed of road closures, accidents, and potential diversions
- Adhere to the company driving rules and regulations
- Oversee/participate in the safe, compliant and accurate loading and unloading of equipment
- Ensure safe receipt of equipment delivery to the customer is acknowledged via the necessary system/process
- Give demonstrations of equipment as required
- Provide guidance and advice to customers, answer the question and resolve queries
- Flag any risks or potential issues to the Workshop Manager and Depot Manager
- Adhere to all external site rules and regulations
- Keep up to date with continued professional development and compliant training and feedback on opportunities for business improvement
