POSITION OVERVIEW

Deliver products/stock to customers in an efficient and professional manner that ensures satisfactory levels of customer service of Chipkins Puratos customers and at the same time carrying out all duties incidental to ensuring satisfactory customer service.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Load customer stock (manually) into delivery truck according to invoices and verifying the stock loaded.
  • Carrying out customer service duties through road trips to deliver goods to customers.
  • Economic handling and care of Company vehicles.
  • Observe and adhere to all National Road Traffic rules and regulations when always driving delivery truck.
  • Ensure that customers sign copy of invoices as proof of delivery to acknowledge receipt of goods.
  • When application, record the temperature on the sales invoice dispatch document and ensure the document is counter-signed by the Receiving Manager/Clerk.
  • Carry out customer liaison by contacting Creditors Clerk where goods are to be delivered has no funds readily available.
  • Handle Cash On Delivery (COD) payments from customers during delivery trips and be responsible thereof.
  • Assist truck assistant to offload stock at customer premises.
  • Upliftment of customer stock.
  • Perform trip related admin duties as required.
  • Inspect and ensure the cleanliness of the truck.
  • Perform other duties as per operational requirements.

JOB MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Grade 12
  • At least Code 10 Drivers’ License/Code 14 Drivers’ License preferred – and a valid Professional Drivers’ Permit (PDP)
  • 2-3 years’ experience driving a Code 10 vehicle
  • Travel extensively to deliver goods to customers
  • Over and above normal working hours, occasional weekend work and overtime is required
  • Written comprehension – the ability to read and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
  • Good communication skills – English is a prerequisite
  • Ability to read and write in English and any other local language(s).
  • Basic arithmetic language
  • Good personality, hardworking, team work, service orientated and trustworthy.
