IT Business Analyst - Journey
Join our team as a Business Analyst supporting our Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
As an IT Business Analyst, you’ll serve as a crucial link between business and IT units. You’ll apply extensive business analysis and technical expertise to manage assignments of varying complexity, including critical decisions impacting the deployment of DVR’s client-server case management system and web applications. These systems play a pivotal role in statewide service delivery, financial transactions, confidential data management, and compliance with federal reporting and performance mandates.
The Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) offers personalized employment services and counseling to individuals with disabilities, aiming to foster independence and empowerment through employment. It operates with annual funding of over $77 million, from federal grants and state contributions. Currently serving over 21,000 individuals, DVR processes approximately 10,000 applications yearly to determine program eligibility. Additionally, the division distributes more than $33 million annually to support services that help clients overcome barriers and achieve their employment objectives.
This job has a primarily telework schedule, where you can work from anywhere within Washington State.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct advanced business and systems analysis, defining detailed requirements and verifying requirements traceability through development and implementation.
- Implement and maintain division-wide business analysis standards, processes, and assets.
- Responsible for business analysis components for governance and IT solutions, verifying alignment with regulations and standards.
- Solicit stakeholder and IT feedback to optimize business analysis outcomes.
- As a member of the Business Application Support Team, assist in the transition to business intelligence and data-driven decision-making.
- Perform program and system risk assessment and gap analysis to determine project impacts.
- Lead requirements elicitation, prioritization, and translation into specifications for new and modified systems.
- As a member of the Business Application Support Team, assist in planning and overseeing solution evaluations, acceptance testing, and release to production.
- Provide expertise on the accessibility of web-based solutions and overall technical accessibility of proposed systems.
- Along with Senior Quality Assurance staff, coordinate User Acceptance Testing, develop release notes, and manage solution approvals and defects.
