EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A Technical Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate is required, or equivalent education (ideally Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical).
  • Exceptional candidates without the above educational requirements, will also be considered.
  • A general supervisory background that crosses craft boundaries and encompasses maintenance support such as spare parts inventory and control is most preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires a broad background in plant maintenance including at least ten (10) years’ experience in hands-on and/or supervision of electrical or mechanical equipment maintenance.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Excellent English (verbal and written communication skills) along with proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Individual must feel comfortable with public speaking.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the execution of all planned, preventative and reactive maintenance of all assets and systems within the boundary of the Energy Recovery Facility.
  • Ensure Mechanical and Electrical, Control and Instrument Leads coordinate and supervise all plant maintenance activities to include contract work and service agreements and control the work of employees and contractors to ensure tasks and projects are performed in accordance with work scopes and specification, whilst adhering with safe systems of work.
  • Support the Plant Manager with achieving operational excellence and delivering the overall Operation and Maintenance strategies while optimising cost and delivering results.
  • Identify actions for development and retention of our employees and continue strengthening the maintenance function.
  • Management of the maintenance budget and P&L to meet and exceed financial KPIs for the Maintenance department.
  • Provide visible personal safety and environmental leadership.
  • Drive teams to report and record all Health, Safety and Environmental unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents.
  • Ensure Mechanical and Electrical, Control and Instrument Leads are conversant with maintenance processes and techniques with the ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute planned outages.
  • Ensure Mechanical and Electrical, Control and Instrument Leads are conversant with the company Technical Standards, along with the wider maintenance team.
  • Ensure a full understanding of the Management of Change process is always followed and adhered to.
  • Give leadership and support the site team to develop strong Root Cause Analysis where needed.
  • Effective and timely management of the Written Scheme of Examination and Insurance Inspections in line with PSSR and LOLER regs.
  • Promote and support the delivery of Encyclis Safety Rules and Safe Systems of Work, and work in accordance with all ACOP, SMI and LMI to ensure we are setting people to work safely.
  • Develop short- and long-term maintenance strategies in line with industry best practices and technical procedures, to be approved by the Plant Manager.
  • Develop and generate an Annual Maintenance Plan for submission to Plant Manager, to include all lifecycle maintenance.
  • Manage the site Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and assign responsibility to maintenance key stakeholders.
  • Develop the maintenance spares inventory and workshop, and delegate the required authorities to the maintenance teams.
  • Lead overall maintenance improvement processes, management of corrective actions, defect notifications and rectification.
  • Create corrective, preventative and proactive maintenance programs to support plant integrity. This will include analysis of work orders, technical proposals, costings to assist in specifying future CAPEX and project implementation.
  • Ensure the Mechanical and Electrical, Control and Instrument Leads take ownership of plant cleanliness and ensure excellent standards of housekeeping are maintained.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to monitor and improve the site Health and Safety performance and ensure systems are in place to drive safety inspections, assign plant area responsibilities and scheduling of routine Health and Safety meetings and forums.
  • Review, develop and maintain accurate and up to date Method Statements and Risk Assessments for the maintenance department.
  • Generate site specific outage plans, in accordance with The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.

Year One Critical Success Factors:

  • Execution of a successful outage campaign in 2025.
  • Hire and on-board any open positions within the maintenance team
  • Support the development of Maintenance documents to support routing and non-routine maintenance activities and ensure conformance to Senior Management Instructions
  • Develop a culture of improved accountability.
