Description:

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world - together. At Ford, we’re all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?
Product Development uses design thinking & user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that delight our customers. We bring innovative, exciting, and sustainable ideas to life. We have opportunities around the world for you to contribute to advancements in autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more!
In this position…
Be part of a Ford team responsible for methods development and process evolution. You will be tasked with integrating NVH principles into the road loads & durability product development and sign off process. You will work with the Road Loads & Durability department to understand high-incident rate issues and develop methods to improve the robustness of Pre-FDJ component sign-off. In this position, your primary development tool will be NVH CAE analysis, so experience and proficiency with finite element models and pre-processors is strongly preferred.
What you’ll do…
Lead the development of correlation methods for durability events in the frequency domain.
Leverage legacy road loads test data to develop characterization methods for components in the NVH Console environment
Evolve NVH tools to represent Durability events in the time and frequency domains
Develop methods to cascade component PSD targets during analytical development of a vehicle line.
Develop methods for quantifying modal alignment sensitivity
You’ll have…
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
5+ Years of experience with Nastran FEA simulations, with emphasis in vehicle dynamics
5+ Years of experience with correlation methods for Full Vehicle CAE
Even better, you may have…
Master of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering or related field
8+ Years of experience with Nastran FEA simulations, with emphasis in vehicle dynamics
8+ Years of experience with correlation methods for Full Vehicle CAE
Coursework in vibrations, acoustics, and/or finite element analysis
Experience in NVH CAE (e.g. NASTRAN finite element analysis, normal modes, forced response, etc.)
NVH test experience (e.g. noise and vibration measurements, modal analysis, operational deflection shapes, data processing, etc.)
Familiarity with NVH CAE software including Hyperworks/Hypermesh , ANSA, and/or NVH Console (NVHC),
Programming Skills (e.g. MATLAB, Python, etc.)
Experience using SimCenter (LMS) TestLab
Desire to work in fast-paced and highly technical environment
Highly motivated and proactive, with exceptional attention to detail
Strong problem-solving skills coupled with strong communication and teamwork skills
You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we’ve outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
