EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Reporting to the Strategic Asset Lead (Waste Infra), the DWMP Manager is responsible for leading a team of catchment planners in developing, visualising and promoting the long-term plan for waste infra and non-infra. The team will focus on engaging internally and externally ensuring a holistic improvement approach is undertaken.

In your role as the DWMP Manager you will lead the DWMP team to:

  • Fulfil Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy statutory obligations under S94A of the Water Industry Act to prepare, publish and review a drainage and sewerage management plan whilst working closely with the LLFA and local councils throughout the Severn Trent region to ensure our long-term plans align with these other drainage asset owners.
  • You’ll get to Work with other water companies and regulators on the technical development of DWMP long term plan creation.
  • You will be working alongside the Strategic Waste Infra and non-Infra teams to ensure in-AMP investment decisions and price review business cases align with long term plans.
  • You will need to be conscious of the Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy waste infra and non-infra investment in AMP investment plans so they align with and support the DWMP, Ensuring you provide expertise to key stakeholders & develop effective relationships with the key stakeholders across Asset Strategy & Planning, Asset Intelligence & Innovation and Customer Delivery Networks and Production.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE

As our DWMP Manager you will be responsible for Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy statutory obligations under S94A of the Water Industry Act 1991 to prepare, publish and review a drainage and sewerage management plan.
You will also be responsible for the development of the technical development of the DWMP long term plan creation along with supporting and guiding the implementation of the Cycle 2 DWMP guidance and the development of Cycle 3 thinking by influencing Ofwat, Defra, Welsh Government, EA, NRW, CCW, LLFA/LPA representatives and others (as needed).
You will be accountable for ensuring appropriate stakeholder discussions occur for the development and dissemination of DWMPs with the EA/NRW, LLFA and councils.
Finally, you’ll be accountable for supporting the management of future growth, reduction of flood risk, and supporting storm overflow spill reduction/compliance with the Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan, through the development of catchment based strategic thinking to develop cohesive infra and non infra strategic options. Applying a TOTEX mentality and in AMP affordability approach throughout development of said plans.
