Dynamic and experienced Senior Project Developer

For our client Anesco Denmark we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Developer to join the forward-thinking team in Denmark. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead efforts to identify and secure large-scale industrial solar energy and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects.
You will be responsible for assessing the commercial viability of these ventures, guiding them through the development process, and ensuring they align with strategic goals before presenting them to senior leadership for approval.
Additionally, you will play a key role in fostering collaboration between internal teams and external partners to bring each project from concept to completion. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to drive impactful renewable energy initiatives and shape the future of sustainable energy solutions.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Pro-actively prospect the market to identify projects that align with the company’s strategic goals, and lead negotiations to secure these opportunities, including:

• Identification of new projects sites both within solar PV and BESS by leveraging existing networks.
• Negotiation of land lease agreements.
• Lead the project through the municipal approval and permit process together with internal teams and external consultants.
• Present projects to local communities, municipalities and other relevant stakeholders.
• Analyze and prioritize business opportunities based on their potential profitability and scalability.
• Prepare and present project proposals to the investment committee to obtain necessary approvals.
• Manage relationships with internal and external consultants on financial, technical, and other project-related matters.
• Assist the Country Manager and wider team in organizing meetings and preparing documents essential for project development.
• Monitor and assess the impact of economic, political, regulatory, and technological changes on ongoing projects and development plans.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality:

• Carry out all work in accordance with the rules applicable within the company and the applicable laws and regulations in the field of health, safety, the environment and quality (HSEQ);
• Report any situation that may be suspected of posing a risk to health, safety, and the environment or quality; and,
• Ensure safe working conditions and working methods that meet the requirements set for the performance of the work in question.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong local network that can be leveraged and experience in dealing with municipalities and other public/private institutions.
• Solid and relevant experience in project origination, project management in the energy sector, energy production technologies, or related industries.
• Proficient understanding of project management methodologies and economic principles related to renewable energy development, preferably solar park development.

Personal Characteristics

• Advanced proficiency in both written and spoken English and fluency in Danish.
• A persuasive communicator extroverted with excellent interpersonal skills and a results-driven mindset.
• Adaptable and open to change. Qualifications & Experience * Strong network in Denmark and knowledge of market.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as technical, economic, legal, or real estate.
