KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proven experience in managing ecommerce platforms.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels and techniques, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, and social media.
- Experience in using analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush) to track ecommerce performance.
- Basic understanding of UX/UI principles and customer journey optimisation.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge of UK ecommerce regulations and GDPR compliance.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE:
The E-Commerce Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving the ecommerce strategy of the business to ensure growth in online sales, customer experience, and digital brand presence. This role will involve managing the daily operations of the ecommerce platform, developing promotional strategies, analysing online sales data, and optimising the performance of the digital store. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, with experience in online retail, digital marketing, and customer engagement, particularly in the UK market.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the ecommerce strategy to drive sales, customer engagement, and overall digital presence. This will include setting revenue targets, identifying growth opportunities, and driving long-term digital initiatives.
- Collaborate with the marketing, sales, and product teams to align ecommerce efforts with broader business goals.
- Stay updated on ecommerce trends, competitor activities, and customer expectations to continuously refine the strategy.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the ecommerce website, ensuring product listings, pricing, promotions, and content are accurate and updated.
- Work with web developers and designers to ensure the website is user-friendly, mobile-responsive, and optimised for conversion.
- Monitor site performance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with IT and third-party vendors to resolve them promptly.
- Use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to monitor key performance metrics, such as traffic, conversion rates, and cart abandonment rates.
- Identify areas of improvement in the online purchasing journey and implement strategies to increase conversion rates and sales.
- Conduct A/B testing to optimise user experience, product presentation, and pricing strategies.
- Ensure a seamless and positive customer journey from browsing to purchase and after-sales service.
- Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve any ecommerce-related customer issues promptly and efficiently, with regular monitoring of user feedback and website performance to ensure high satisfaction rates.
- Gather customer feedback through reviews, surveys, and analytics to enhance the user experience.
- Generate detailed reports on ecommerce performance, including traffic, sales, customer behaviour, and financial performance.
- Use insights to recommend data-driven changes and inform future ecommerce strategies.
- Lead and manage a team of e-commerce professionals, including web developers, software developers and web administrators.
- Present findings to senior management on a regular basis and recommend action points for continuous improvement.
