E-Discovery Manager

We are seeking an E-Discovery Manager to join the ALG Solutions department in A&L Goodbody. Our ALG Solutions group is the largest group of its kind in Ireland with over 60 dedicated full time professionals. ALG Solutions is a key component of ALG’s innovation strategy and is committed to delivering forward-looking solutions to our client’s legal challenges in an increasing digital world. This position is on the side of ALG Solutions group that supports our litigation and investigation teams.

REQUIREMENTS

• Third level honours degree or professional qualification in relevant discipline.
• 7 to 10 years of eDiscovery experience including a detailed understanding of Relativity and the EDRM.
• Experience navigating large volumes of unstructured data from various sources.
• Experience managing, mentoring, and developing direct reports.
• Experience of eDiscovery project management and reporting structures.
• Experience presenting complex concepts to clients and regulators in a clear and impactful manner.
• eDiscovery certifications particularly Relativity certifications are a nice to have.

THE ROLE

The successful applicant will become a leader in our eDiscovery and Investigation support team within ALG Solutions. The successful applicant will manage one of our eDiscovery teams and will be responsible for the management of, consulting on, and assisting with the growth of our eDiscovery practice across the firm and broader market. The successful applicant will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and management of their team and mentoring their training and development.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for the hands-on management of projects from identification to production, liaising with clients and case teams to collect, process and cull data for review, and completing and supervising tasks on RelativityOne. The successful applicant will act as point of contact for projects and assist case teams to ensure we provide eDiscovery services to our clients in the most efficient and defensible manner possible.
The successful applicant will also be jointly responsible for RelativityOne training for lawyers and junior staff, as well as assisting with raising awareness of RelativityOne within the firm. There is also a significant scope for the successful applicant to work with other legal tech products and supporting non-contentious projects.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing eDiscovery projects from identification to production, including both technical consulting work, and project reporting, liaising with legal teams and clients.
• Providing eDiscovery training and support to lawyers and junior staff, assisting with eDiscovery marketing efforts, and identifying any areas where additional technology would improve processes and drive efficiency.
• Supervision of, and continual improvement of, repeatable, legally defensible workflows and best practices within ALG Solutions.
• Assisting legal teams and lawyers with identification and capture of data in a forensically sound manner.
• Assisting legal teams and lawyers understanding what the data is telling them in a case / investigation.
• Implementing protocols within the EDRM to ensure the delivery of best practices.
• Assisting ALG’s client technology team with the design and roll out of additional legal technology projects across the firm.
• The applicant’s primary responsibilities within the ALG Solutions will be developing and supporting our eDiscovery and investigation service offering. There is also significant scope to diversify and assist:
• other parts of the firm delivering technology-based enhancements to the business.
• with the development of new client technology projects, whether product or use case based.
• legal teams to develop and deliver multi-disciplinary projects.
• with re-imaging and re-inventing how, we deliver certain legal services.
