This is a fantastic opportunity working as a Early Careers Manager with us at Severn Trent. You will be working closely with our Customer Operations business leadership teams to design, deliver and manage a variety of new talent programmes.
Ensuring we are continuing to grow our talent for the future whilst achieving our inclusion strategy and delivering on our societal commitments. Supporting approximately 200 people on programme a year. You can really make this role your own as you’ll look to implement new ideas and focus on the long-term strategy (including workforce planning) for this critical area of our business.
SOME OF YOUR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Partnering with business leaders, to identify, co-design and deliver new talent programmes that align with and enable the organisations strategic skills plan and inclusion strategy (including apprenticeships, graduate, undergraduate and other employability programmes)
- Utilising internal and external networks to identify opportunities for future talent development programmes that align with the people resilience and inclusion strategy of the organisation.
- Take a lead on planning discussions with HRBP’s and business leaders to explore and identify new opportunities where new talent programmes are the right skills solution.
- Support attraction events and assessment centers to build a diverse talent pipeline for our programmes.
- Work in collaboration with line managers to manage the on-going learning experience, performance and progression of new talent whilst on programme. Using engagement and satisfaction feedback to identify and implement improvements that will enhance our learners experience.
- Partnering with our Academy, develop a diverse network of confident and capable mentors to support our new talent on their learning journey and into their first staff positions.
- Manage the relationship with providers to ensure our training is fit for purpose and value for money. Including the identification and on-boarding of new providers.
- Continue to evaluate our programmes, to ensure they are fit for purpose and delivering the value and impact expected.
- Ensure appropriate SafeGuarding protocols are in place and followed, to keep our new talent safe and well.
Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a candidate with an interest and passion for developing excellent operational & environmental capability for our organisation. Being super organised is essential in this role as you’ll be managing a number of moving parts all connected to delivering our brilliant new talent programmes. You’ll be comfortable working with volume and complexity, able to think big picture as well as getting into the detail as required.
Working with people should come naturally to you in the role as you’ll work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders across New Talent, Resourcing, HR and the Business. You’ll be someone who is naturally curious and is able to build strong, credible and lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization and externally with our chosen providers and partners.
Previous experience of designing and delivering development programmes and events is required. A strong understanding of Apprenticeships is essential, and working knowledge of other development programmes such as; graduate programmes / T-Levels would be advantageous. Having worked in an operational/manufacturing/engineering environment is desirable but not essential for the role.
Due to the nature of the role, flexibility to work outside of normal working hours and the ability to travel for events on occasion is required. You’ll also successfully achieve any required compliance checks that enables working with young people and/or vulnerable adults.
