THE VACANCY

We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Careers Specialist to join our People & Culture team on a full-time basis, based in our London City office.
The role of Early Careers Specialist sits within the CSR & Early Careers function of the People & Culture team, working alongside and supporting the Head of CSR & Early Careers. The main purpose of the role is to execute and manage the process of sourcing, attracting, interviewing and recruiting early careers employees to the company. He/she will be responsible for managing candidates and developing excellent working relationships with the hiring managers, providing excellent client care to both. Over time, they will also start to support the Head of CSR & Early Careers with the running of our early careers programmes, helping to nurture and develop our early careers employees.

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 2 - 3 years’ experience working within recruitment, ideally within Early Careers.
  • Experience supporting early careers training programmes would be beneficial but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability and self-confidence to build strong working relationships internally and externally at all levels.
  • Able to manage a diverse workload and prioritise work to varying deadlines.
  • Experience of developing or improving processes and tools for recruitment.
  • Credibility when speaking to both candidates and stakeholders.
  • Engaging and professional approach.
  • Ability to adapt style and approach to work with different hiring managers always considering their workload and time constraints.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to coach and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to drive projects, results oriented, pragmatic, can-do, service-oriented.
  • Proactive, forward thinking and creative.
  • Ability to travel to Careers Fairs during busy season (Sept-Oct and Feb-March).
  • Previous HR, ATS or related system experience, and/or experience of Team Tailor.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the end-to-end Early Careers recruitment process for apprentices, industrial placements, summer interns and graduates, from application to hire.
  • Working with the Head of CSR & Early Careers to liaise with hiring managers to fully understand their Early Careers recruitment needs, ensuring role requirements are accurately gathered and ways of working are established.
  • Follow admin/sign-off process for authorisation of recruitment, write specs, adverts, manage saving of CVs and logging of applications, set up and conduct interviews.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to hiring managers on Early Careers best practice.
  • Where necessary advise and coach hiring managers on interviewing and best practice selection methods aiming to further improve the quality of selection.
  • Ensure we offer best-in-class candidate and hiring manager journeys.
  • Execute our talent attraction approach across universities and schools. Creatively use social media and jobs boards to source candidates.
  • Use our ATS (Team Tailor) to track and manage applicants making sure all candidates applying to Hollis regardless of their suitability have a positive experience.
  • Maintaining our ATS system (Team Tailor) with current and accurate reportable data.
  • Encourage employee referrals and develop strategies to increase participation.
  • Follow-up with new recruits to gain referrals in a diplomatic way.
  • Utilise external connections and build external working relationships that may be helpful resources.
  • Work with colleagues in People & Culture to ensure the on-boarding process is slick and professional.
  • At all times whether dealing internally or externally maintain Hollis’ professional image and brand. Live the values and conduct business accordingly. This includes considering the opinions of candidates, managers, new recruits existing teams etc.
  • Contribute to the overall development and promotion of the People & Culture function by being an active member of the wider team, supporting colleagues and taking up opportunities to work on the development of processes and projects as required.
