Description:
*ECE students are welcome to apply. Child Care Plus is licensed by the Ministry of Education and holding service agreement with Region of Waterloo. It is independently operated and provides quality childcare in the KW community for over 20 years. We currently have one full-time ECE or ECA position open for hiring on contract basis for 3-6 months to cover a mat leave. Individuals with genuine love in working children and relevant childcare experience is invited to apply.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Early Childhood Educator, Early Childhood Assistant or equivalent qualification
- Previous daycare work experience is an asset
- Good at team work and able to lead independently
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- First Aid and CPR
- Police vulnerable sector check
- Immunization record and tuberculosis test
- Punctuality and good attendance
- Flexibility with different work shifts or extended hours

Responsibilities:
- Work with other ECE teachers to lead a group of children or assist ECE teachers to provide primary care for children aged 1.5-4 yrs old. Plan and execute age-appropriate activities under the guide of “How does learning happen?”, observe, document and discuss with supervisor about the development milestones of children, communicate with families through online app. Provide a safe, fun, inspiring environment to children, understand and respond to their needs, and help children to develop essential skills, self-esteem and independence.
- Familiar with the The Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014.
- Daily documentation and record keeping
- Collaborate with SNR specialists to maximize the learning capacity of children with special needs
- Other duties including food preparation, cleaning, sanitation and disinfection as assigned
