Description:

Kidz Connect Daycare & OSC is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator, with an educational background in the childcare field, knowledge of the FLIGHT Program and skilled in curriculum planning. We are currently accepting experienced Child Care Workers (Certified Level 2), and Child Care Supervisors (Certified Level 3).
Responsibilities (dependent upon role/certification):
- Create and support early childhood educators in carrying out curriculums and programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children as per the FLIGHT framework
- Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- To ensure that daycare philosophy, policies, and procedures are adhered to at all times
- To work with the co-worker in planning and implementing the program
- Setting up of indoor and outdoor equipment.
- To prepare materials needed for daily program e.g. paint, paste, finger paints, paper, etc.
- To work as a team member
- To gain trust and respect of children and their parents.
- To be a good representative of the center at all times.
- To support the Co-worker’s Philosophy, programming, and strategies.
- To assist in the production of resources and displays.
- Enrich the program by contribution ideas, talents and resources that may be a valuable addition to the program.
- See that the program continues to function in other areas while the teacher concentrates in small groups of children for specific learning experiences.
- To maintain professionalism and rapport with Team members/Director and other staff in front of parents and visitors.
- To assure the duties of opening staff: The opening staff ensures that the building, play areas, toys, materials, and furnishings have been regularly inspected, are safe, in good repair, and hygienically maintained. A daily maintenance and safety inspection checklist is completed (indoors and outdoors) and posted. All equipment has been regularly inspected (and noted on the checklist), are safe, in good repair, and hygienically maintained.
- Monitor and discuss the progress and concerns of children
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child care programs before and after regular school hours (dependent upon role)
Qualifications :
Requirements:
- Alberta Child Care Certification Level 3, or Level 2,
- First Aid and CRP
- Police clearance with vulnerable sector check
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Fluency in English is a must
