DESCRIPTION

Ferntree Gully 3 Year Old Preschool is seeking applicants for an Early Childhood Teacher for our 3 year old program. The successful candidate will work closely alongside the Educators, other staff and the Commitee of Management to deliver a high quality program for our children. The position commences March 3rd and is ongoing. The role requires you to teach one group 25 three year old children on Mondays and Wednesdays, Friday will be for planning. You will be part of a team of educators who work in collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for all our children in attendance. Total hours for the week will be 21, with this time divided between contact time, non contact planning time. Responsibilities:

• Develop and provide a high quality, developmentally appropriate educational program (based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework)
• Have knowledge of the National Quality Standards (NQS)
• Have a capacity to undertake and be committed to our Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
• Provide educational leadership while working as a member of a collaborative preschool team.

Duties:

• Be responsible to the committee of management (employer) for the development and delivery of the programs for which they are responsible.
• Operate within the requirements of the preschool’s policies and procedures, as well as funding and regulatory requirements and the budget allocation.
• Be actively involved in the development and implementation of the Quality Improvement Plan of the service.
• Encourage enrolments and provide relevant written information and referrals in accordance with the enrolment policy and procedures.
• Other duties as directed by the Committee of Management from time-to-time.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the service through reflective practice.
• Coordinate meetings and processes, involving all educational staff, to design and deliver a high quality and diverse educational program based on appropriate curriculum frameworks and with reference to the NQS.
