Description:

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about patient care and delivery, to join our Gynaecology Cancer Team as ‘Early Diagnostic
Support Worker’.
The post holder will be an integral part of the Gynaecology Cancer Team and will support in the co-ordination of the diagnostic pathway for patients. The post holder will ensure close and robust co-ordination of the patient pathway and will be a key point of liaison for patients, relatives, consultants, nurse specialists, GPs, the wider oncology team and other disciplines within the Trust. In addition, the post holder will be able to signpost patients and carers to the relevant sources of support and information appropriate to their needs.
A large part of the role is providing administrative and coordination support to consultants, cancer nurse specialists and the wider medical and nursing teams who support the Gynaecology cancer pathway. The role will play an integral part of the patient’s experience of their cancer journey and will also be key member of the team in supporting the achievement of the 28 and 62 day cancer standards.
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester (population 357K). To work closely with the Gynaecology CNS team, GP’s and the wider oncology team and other disciplines within the Trust.
Liaison and point of contact between primary and secondary care.
To be a single point of contact for patients, carers and the healthcare team – triaging sensitive enquiries and referring to the appropriate
department within the hospital.
Ensure patient safety, quality and experience across the whole pathway
